For this assignment we were asked to convey a particular feeling in a creative way through different words portrayed and use the strategies I've learned so far. I wanted to "reflect the meaning of the words they portray."
For "BRICK" I wanted the color to have a rusty brown color similar to actual brick and make the texture of the word the same.
For "lightly" I made the word appear very faint and a light blue. I did this to represent if someone were to write something very light and without much force or effort.
For "pillow" I wanted to word to appear fluffy and cloud-like. So changed the gradient of the background to fade from blue to white and made the lettering match as best as I could.
For "shred" I used puppet warp for all of the letters to make it appear very out of place and rough-looking. I also took the smudge tool and went used it to make the letters appear smeared.
For "XXL" I had the idea from an old sweatshirt that I used to have. There were huge letters in the middle of it with the name of a local team I used to play for. I used black and red because I feel that they are masculine colors and XXL is geared towards masculinity.
For "atom" I changed the text to have light colors that were easy on the eye. I then added rings around the word to represent an atom and used similar colors for the rings.
Your images are really good! I like the color contrast among them. Each image has something about it that just jumps off of the page. I especially like the color/gradient use in the 'atom' image. Also, 'xxl' is really bold with the red contrasting against the black background. The 'brick' image is very powerful simply because of the font you chose. It is bold face and really allows for it stand out. Great job!
