For this assignment I worked with Laura and we were asked to take an object and make it show emotion. We chose a plain and very simple animated car off of Google to work with. We started by changing the appearance of the car by adding color. We used a tan color for the body of the car and made the bumper red for its lips. We wanted to convey the emotion happiness so we warped the bumper to make it smile. We also changed the color of the headlights to green to represent the eyes. We also added a license plate as well as a roof rack that could bee seen as hair or a hat, depending on how you looked at it I guess. For the hat or hair we took another image from Google that was a travel shell and used to magnetic lasso and changed the color to all black to make it match the animation of the car. We also warped the text on the right and used the shape tool to make the sun. Dr. Estes suggested that instead of just warping the bumper, we warp the entire car to make it appear more upbeat and overall 'happy'. So the last image is the final product of our emotional design.
